Web Sites
This page contains information on web sites I have designed or developed. Feel free to browse through and check some of them out.
I do quite a lot of work on administration/back-end E-Commerce web sites using PHP and MySQL, so some of the web sites I have worked on cannot be displayed here.
2010
This was one of the largest projects I've had the opportunity to work on. The majority of the project involved building a heavily Ajax-based interface where users could keep track of their expenses, goals, tasks and much more.
The system uses a module/plugin-based backend for all the components so it is easy to manage and add more functionality.
The entire site is coded, from scratch, in Object-oriented PHP and JavaScript (using the jQuery library).
2009
I approached the owner of Dealing with Dogs in January 2009 with a recommendation on a re-design of their web site.
We talked about what she wanted and I suggested using Wordpress so that the content on the web site could be easily managed.
I designed the site and added the custom template to Wordpress. I also had to program some custom plugins so that the client could get all the functionality she wanted. There was also an issue regarding security on the class registration page so I had to add a shared SSL security certificate in order to secure the connection.
2008
I first worked on this web site through contract work with a company in Peterborough. Since then I have been working for the client directly adding in content and images on a lot of the other pages. I wrote the XHTML and CSS for the middle content area.
This web site is one part to a larger project with a few other related web sites coming out soon.
2008
This is another web site I just recently designed for a client in Australia. The photo gallery picture information is stored in an XML file and read using PHP.
2008
* They are now using Joomla for their web site, and the course calendar I created is not being used anymore.
I programmed the course calendar for this web site. The system used PHP to read and display the courses which were stored in an XML file.
All of the filters were also programmed using PHP which compared multiple XML tags and attributes in order to filter the search results.
2008
I worked on this web site while I was doing contract work with CBS Group Inc.
I designed and coded the entire web site using PHP, XHTML, and CSS.
2008
* They have now moved to a different system and redesigned their web site. I didn't design or code anything for the new site. I'll try to get some images of the old site to link to because I was really impressed by the header that I made.
This is another web site I worked on while doing contract work with CBS Group Inc. This web site used the Joomla CMS for managing content.
I designed the header image, fixed the layout (it was messy before), and I coded/designed the tables in their Demo Centre.
2008
This is a web site I worked on while working for CBS Group Inc. This web site also uses the Joomla CMS.
I didn't design the site, but I did implement the design into the Joomla template files and wrote the HTML and CSS for the layout. I also setup the JavaScript dropdown menu, and I coded a complicated PHP/MySQL boat database management system in the administration backend.
2007
This is yet another Joomla web site I worked on while working as a contract Web Developer for CBS Group Inc.
I didn't design the web site, but I did have to take the design and implement it into the Joomla template. I also coded the CSS and XHTML for the template files and setup the JavaScript flyout menu.
2007
Another Joomla web site I worked on while working as a Web Developer for CBS Group Inc.
I designed this web site, and wrote the code for the template files. I also setup the calendar application as a Joomla extension, the Weather Network "Weather Button", and the Millbrook Times RSS feed.
2005
I designed and developed this web site back in 2005 while I was working at the campground. I have also been updating it whenever the client contacts me with changes.
I programmed another version of the site using more PHP and a MySQL database, but I haven't gotten around to implementing it yet.
